Getting your player ready...

We told you in January that Britney Spears might be coming to Colorado. But we figured it’d be Cherry Creek and rehab in Estes Park — not “South Park.”

A cartoon version of the Popwreck starred in Wednesday night’s debut of “Britney’s New Look” on Comedy Central’s “South Park.”

In the over-the-top episode, Spears goes to a campground in Colorado to elude the paparazzi. But they find her there, too, so she flees to the “Komfort Inn” in South Park. Our boys — Cartman, Butters, Stan and Kyle — get into her room with a camera by pretending to be her kids. They heard that a picture of Brit can fetch $100,000.

“You’re never going to leave me alone, are you?” Spears asks. Then she takes a shotgun and blows off the top of her head, as Butters takes a pic.

This doesn’t kill her, however. She just spends the rest of the episode with the “crazy no-top-of-the-head look.”

Her manager says: “Britney, what were you thinking? First you shave your head — now this!”

She’s taken to Denver Health Medical Center, then she performs headless at the MTV Awards. Then it’s off to Union Station, where Stan boards a train to the North Pole with Spears — while Kyle disguises himself as Brit and leads paparazzi on a chase through LoDo.

Alas, it doesn’t end well for Brit in Colorado. You can watch the episode at .

Tryouts.

Time to pick our firefighters and cheerleaders, so get out your scorecards.

On April 11, firefighters from Colorado heat up the Hyatt DTC in tryouts for the 2009 Colorado Firefighter Calendar. Judges for the strutters include CBS4’s Stacey Donaldson, 9News’ Kirk Montgomery, Alice radio’s Jennifer Wilde and The Party radio’s Broadway Joe.

And starting March 29, hundreds of women will kick it at Invesco Field in tryouts to become Denver Broncos cheerleaders. Many are called, few are chosen — and some of them get to travel. This past January, a dozen in the pep squadron went to the South Pacific to entertain the troops and their families with what cheerleader Keela Harris calls “a lively two-hour show.”

50 and counting.

Jordy Construction turns 50 this year — but no, Charles Jordy, 52, wasn’t a toddler when he started it.

He took it over from his dad in 1978. Now the company builds everything from CSI labs to operating theaters to restaurants.

It just put together Jing Restaurant, where people can’t stop talking about the bathrooms and the bar. And they are about to start on SEE, an edgy optical boutique moving into NorthCreek.

City Spirit.
