Making its first postseason appearance in five seasons, the Colorado women’s basketball team will host Gonzaga (25-8) at 7 p.m. tonight in a second-round game of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament in the Coors Events Center.
CU (16-14) had a first-round bye in the tournament.
“This is big for our program, another step,” CU coach Kathy McConnell-Miller said of the WNIT.

Eagles bound for CHL playoffs.
The Colorado Eagles clinched the Northwest Division in the Central Hockey League for a fifth straight season Saturday night.
The Eagles open the playoffs Friday at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland with Game 1 of a best-of- seven series against the Youngstown SteelHounds.
DU golfers seventh, CSU eighth.
The University of Denver men’s golf team finished seventh at the Ron Moore Invitational in Goodyear, Ariz., with a final- round, 4-over-par 292. Kansas State won the team title at the event, which is hosted by DU every spring.
Colorado State finished one stroke behind the Pioneers for eighth place. Air Force was 15th.
