Getting your player ready...

TUCSON — Luis Vizcaino threw a crisp inning Saturday and is scheduled to pitch today against the Milwaukee Brewers and Wednesday vs. the Arizona Diamondbacks.

“There is no pain or tightness (in the elbow). I’m feeling very comfortable, and every day I throw the ball better. Yesterday I threw the ball well, and I kept it down,” Vizcaino said.

Asked if he is ready for the regular season, the Rockies right-hander said: “Yeah. I do. There is no soreness, no nothing.”

Footnotes.

Brad Hawpe, who had not played in a Cactus League game since March 10 because of a sore left elbow, went 2-for-3 on Sunday with a triple, a double and four RBIs. He is hitting .417 this spring. . . . The Rockies made other roster moves, sending these players to the minors: first baseman Joe Koshansky, catcher Mike Rose, infielders Jonathan Herrera and Matt Kata, and pitchers Chris George, Josh Newman, Darren Clark and Victor Zambrano.
