David Beckham played 63 minutes Wednesday in England’s 1-0 international friendly loss to France. It appears the Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder should be available to play in Saturday’s Major League Soccer opener against the Rapids at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. Beckham made his 100th appearance for his home country, becoming only the fifth English player to do so. He left without any apparent injury.
The Rapids said Beckham is expected to arrive in Denver Friday afternoon and, barring any unforeseen circumstances, make his Mile High City playing debut Saturday night.
