Getting your player ready...

Friday-Sunday.The happy days of spring break are waning. Most kids head back to school Monday, if they haven’t already, but the Denver Art Museum is helping them cling to their last days of freedom. “The Best Spring Break Ever” ran all week at the museum and continues this weekend. Art-making activities abound throughout both museum buildings: Weave a Navajo blanket, sculpt a scary jungle bug or draw a cool animal – opportunities are everywhere. Pick up a Family Backpack or Art Tube, too, and bring fun times into the galleries. On Saturday, help LEGO artist Duane Hess make a mosaic of one of the museum’s artworks. Or just mess around with the LEGOs and make art of your own. The extra incentive: Art fans under 18 are admitted free to the museum through Sunday, and get half-price admission to the “Inspiring Impressionists” exhibit. “The Best Spring Break Ever” should tide you over, funwise, until summer vacation. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Saturday, noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. Denver Art Museum, 100 W. 14th Avenue Parkway. 720-865-5000. Kids 18 and younger are admitted to the museum free all weekend. Adults are $10 for Colorado residents and $13 for nonresidents. Senior and student discounts are available.
