ATLANTA — Wal-Mart Stores Inc. can’t block a satirical website that compares the retailer’s business practices to the “Walocaust” and “Wal-Qaeda” because it doesn’t violate the company’s trademarks, a federal judge ruled.

Charles Smith’s use of words and phrases mimicking Wal-Mart’s trademarks is legal because it’s meant to raise awareness of his beliefs rather than profit, U.S. District Judge Timothy C. Batten Sr. ruled in Atlanta.
