Denver police were looking today for a man they say shot and wounded a father and his son Friday night after the two got off a bus at a Regional Transportation District park-and-Ride.
The shooting happened about 9:30 p.m. near East 47th Avenue and Peoria Street. Police said at least three passengers got off the bus when an argument ensued between the passengers and the suspect. It was unclear whether the suspect was one of the bus passengers.
The suspect pulled out a gun and shot one man once then shot the other man multiple times before running north into an apartment complex.
The victims were not identified Saturday, but Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson said it appeared that the man who was shot multiple times would likely survive.
“He’s still alive. I know that,” Jackson said.
The suspect was identified as being a black male in his late teens and having close-cropped black hair and wearing a red and white shirt and red Dickey pants.
The shooting is being investigated by the Denver Police Gang Unit, Jackson said.
