Aviation Technology Group founder George Bye has started an aerospace consulting company.

Bye left ATG last fall to start Bye Engineering, which will focus on aerospace consulting and exploring alternative energy for small aircraft in general aviation. Centennial Airport-based ATG was working on the development of a two-seat very light jet when it let go most of its employees and halted work on the jet in December. ATG officials are working on selling the company.

“We believe biofuels and electric power, when combined with the latest advancements in battery technology, has progressed to the point where it should be evaluated for use, and ultimately certified in general-aviation aircraft,” Bye said in a written statement. Kelly Yamanouchi, The Denver Post
