No one was injured in a fire this morning at a mobile home in Greeley, although the woman and four children who live there lost their two pet birds to the blaze.

Union Colony Fire/Rescue Authority went to the call about 9:00 a.m. and found heavy smoke coming out of the home.

Firefighters determined no one was home, the agency said in a news release, and they quickly put the fire out.

The Red Cross was called to assist the family.

The release said the fire was caused by an electrical short between the clothes washer and dryer. Damage is estimated at $25,000.
