A man and his ex-wife were seriously injured after he pulled her into his car and rammed into another car while driving away, authorities say.

The woman was thrown from the Honda driven by a man believed to be her ex-husband and was taken to a hospital with rib and head injuries, which are not life-threatening injuries, said Lt. John Sopranuk, spokesman for the Aurora Police Department.

The man was hospitalized with a lacerated spleen, which is not considered life-threatening, Sopranuk said.

The identities of the two have not been released.

The two were arguing before the man pulled the woman into his 1985 silver Honda Civic on the 12400 block of East Ford Avenue, he said.

They were continuing to argue as he drove north on East Tennessee Circle and tried to turn west on East Ford Avenue and struck a 1995 silver Hyundai Sonata, which was going east on East Ford Avenue, Sopranuk said.

The driver of the Hyundai was treated for minor injuries and was released at the scene of the accident, Sopranuk said.

Authorities believe the male driver of the Honda had been drinking alcohol. The accident is under investigation, he said.
