Qwest said it has found a sponsor for an amendment to a bill regarding the Public Utilities Commission that would let the company raise the current residential phone rate in the state.
Sen. Lois Tochtrop, D-Thorn ton, will sponsor the amendment to House Bill 1227, a Qwest spokeswoman said Thursday. The company said it is looking for more flexibility in setting the phone rate, which now stands at $14.88 a month.
