COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—The family of a 22-year-old woman missing since last week fears she may be dead after her boyfriend killed himself when officers stopped by the couple’s apartment to check on her.
In an interview with The Gazette last week, Agim Elshani says she believes it’s just a matter of time before the body of her daughter, Bekime “Becky” Elshani, is found.
Daniel Dereere died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Monday. Family say the couple’s relationship had been marred by violence and that Dereere may have feared Elshani was seeing her ex-husband.
Elshani is white, 5 feet 5 inches tall, 110 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes. Anyone with information can call Colorado Springs police detective Pete Quick at 719-444-7557.
