Getting your player ready...

The Rockies broke out their bling before this afternoon’s game at Coors Field.

With a big crowd looking on, the players, coaches and staff got to see their 2007 National Championship rings for the first time.

The rings are made of white gold and have a total weight of 1.25 carats. Each ring is adorned with 69 diamonds and is adorned with a purple amethyst “CR” on top.

On one shank, there are eight stones, each one representing a Rockies’ playoff win from last season — including their dramatic 13-inning wild-card tiebreaker game against San Diego. That shank also has the word “Rocktober.”

The second shank has each player’s last name, along with their uniform number and the NL logo.

Inside the ring is the club’s 90-73 regular-season record from last year.

In addition to players and coaches, select team employees also received rings, including Tony Cowell, a member of the Coors Field engineering crew who is credited as the pioneer of the humidor.
