Thursday. Elmo, “Sesame Street’s” squeaky-voiced superstar, helps kids imagine their grown-up selves when “Sesame Street Live” visits Denver for a four-day run next week. The show, “When Elmo Grows Up,” features a new Muppet, Abby Cadabby, as well as Oscar, Big Bird and the other Sesame Street neighbors. With lots of songs, cool sets and a clever script, kids learn they can be anything they want when they grow up. Maybe they’ll follow Elmo’s lead and dream of being a “weather monster.” 7 p.m. Thursday. 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. April 18; 10:30 a.m., 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. April 19; 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. April 20. Friday-Sunday. It sounds like something out of Chicago gangster days, but it happened here: In 1922, a gang of robbers stuck up the Denver Mint and made off with hundreds of thousands of dollars. Now, budding sleuths can sniff out the suspects themselves with a historical walking tour of downtown presented by Denver Inside and Out. Clues pop up throughout the 2 1/2- to 3-hour tour, along with shady characters from Denver’s past. Then, unravel the mystery at Marlowe’s with free soft drinks and snacks. Work on your best Jimmy Cagney impression, and you’ll blend in perfectly. 10 a.m. Fridays through Sundays. The tour starts at Union Station, 1701 Wynkoop St. Tickets are $40 for adults and $35 for kids ages 6 to 11. Kids under 6 are free. Reservations are required; or 303-330-9871 to sign up.

Winter blues start to thaw Saturday when the Colorado Children’s Chorale presents “Spring With the Children’s Chorale.” All five choirs welcome warmer months with a cheerful program including sunny music from Brazil and beautiful Aaron Copland melodies. In his kooky travels he meets more of his kind, like Alexis Scissor Legs and Our Lady of Perpetual Help, also known as The Dashboard Nun. Comic-book guys and girls of all ages are welcome.
