Getting your player ready...

The Diamondbacks tied a franchise record by hitting four Rockies batters Sunday, including Jayson Nix in the head. No one was injured, and there was no payback. Matt Holliday took a fastball to the arm. That alone would suggest that at some point down the road, a Diamondbacks star is going to “wear one” — baseball parlance for getting plunked.

Hudson up a creek:

The normally savvy Orlando Hudson got fooled on the infield fly rule in the first inning. With runners on first and second and one out, Mark Reynolds popped up to first baseman Todd Helton. Before Helton lost the ball in the sun, umpire Sam Holbrook signaled infield fly, making Reynolds out. Hudson took off for second base and believed he was forced out when Helton threw the ball to Clint Barmes. However, on an infield fly, the runner must be tagged out. So Hudson was finally retired when he walked off toward the dugout and Barmes tagged him.
