MONTROSE—San Miguel County officials say the federal government didn’t give them adequate information about plans to designate a 3,500-foot-wide corridor through the county for oil, gas, hydrogen and electricity transmission.
County Commissioner Art Goodtimes plans to tell a House Natural Resources subcommittee in Washington Tuesday that the county hasn’t been given sufficient details.
Goodtimes says he will ask federal agencies to develop new proposals for the corridor and make more effort to consult with local officials.
The Montrose commissioners plan to meet with the U.S. Energy Department, Bureau of Land Management and Forest Service on April 23 in Telluride about the plans.
