Avalanche coach Joel Quenneville this morning indicated Peter Forsberg “is likely to play” tonight in Game 4 of the first-round series against the Minnesota Wild, despite the fact the teams are playing on back-to-back nights.
Regulars didn’t participate in the morning skate, but the Avalanche held a team meeting in preparation for Game 4 in the series Minnesota leads 2-1 following its 3-2 overtime victory Monday night.
Quenneville said that depending on Forsberg’s availability, the lineup “likely will be very close” to the same one the Avalanche used in the first three games, but he also indicated he was at least leaning toward including defenseman Jordan Leopold in the lineup for the first time in the series.
“Leo is a strong option for tonight,” he said.
