News Corp., the media company controlled by Rupert Murdoch, terminated its poison pill takeover defense following the repurchase of shares held by John Malone’s Liberty Media Corp.
The board also eliminated staggered terms for directors, subject to shareholder approval, News Corp. said Tuesday in an e-mailed statement.
