Garrett Atkins knew his batting average was deceiving last week as he floated around .260. “It could be worse. I have gotten some cheap hits.” His contact Wednesday night was legit, the Rockies’ third baseman lining three singles in his first three at-bats. Atkins has hit safely in eight of his last 10 games.
