WELD COUNTY — A 33-year- old Thornton man died Saturday morning after losing control of a homemade motorcycle he was driving north on Interstate 25 near the Dacono exit, the Colorado State Patrol reported.
The motorcycle, built in 1999, ran off the left side of the road into the depressed median, ejecting the driver into a cable barrier, according to State Patrol investigators.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The cause of the crash is under investigation. The man was not wearing a helmet, and alcohol or drugs are not suspected.
