A bicyclist was killed Saturday afternoon in Jefferson County when a postal worker crashed into him with her truck.

The Colorado State Patrol reported a man was riding his bicycle in the 16000 block of West 32nd Avenue, near McIntyre Street, shortly before 5:25 p.m. when a woman driving a U.S. Postal Service residential delivery truck crossed the yellow line and hit him. Afterward, she swerved and the truck rolled another 40 feet.

The bicyclist was reported to be in his 50s and was wearing a helmet.

His name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

The woman taken to a hospital for treatment. Her name and condition were not released.

The state patrol said investigators were still on the scene Saturday night.
