American Impressionism in Dallas

The Dallas Museum of Art is showing the works of a Texas native son credited with creating indelible images of the Lone Star State. “Bluebonnets and Beyond: Julian Onderdonk, American Impressionist” helps explain why the painter was christened “The Bluebonnet Painter” and showcases a body of work that has since been much imitated. Antler auction in Jackson, Wyo.

More than 200 Boy Scouts and their leaders along with employees from the National Elk Refuge in Jackson, Wyo., will coordinate the annual ElkFest May 17-18 in the Town Square and other venues around the area, where along with the traditional antler auction and chili cook-off, folks can participate in a Mountain Man Rendezvous and artisan craft fair.
