The companies behind a natural-gas pipeline on the Roan Plateau in western Colorado will be able to continue operations as long as they work with state health-department officials to control the project’s sediment runoff, according to an agreement announced Tuesday.
Colorado Attorney General John Suthers asked a district court last week to halt the construction of the pipeline until concerns about sediment runoff were addressed. Suthers said Tuesday that the companies — Enterprise Products, Enterprise Transportation, Marathon Oil and Berry Petroleum — have agreed to pay for weekly inspections of the project for the next few months.
