LAKEWOOD, Colo.—A fire at a small gymnasium at Bear Creek High School was arson and officials have interviewed students and faculty.
Investigators are not sure what chemicals were used, said West Metro Fire Protection District spokeswoman Cindy Matthews.
Materials used for wrestling and gymnastics burned and the school suffered extensive smoke damage. Air quality testing this week could help determine if the school could reopen to its 1,865 students on Monday.
