DES MOINES, Iowa—The Powerball jackpot was expected to rise to an estimated $144 million for Saturday since no one matched all six numbers in the midweek drawing, the Multi-State Lottery Association said.
The winning numbers Wednesday were 11, 20, 21, 22 and 39. The Powerball was 1 and the multiplier was 10.
Players matching all five numbers and the Powerball would have won or shared the $126.4 million jackpot.
Five tickets sold in Iowa, Kentucky, Missouri and Pennsylvania matched the first five numbers only to win $200,000 apiece.
Colorado’s top prize was $1,000 for each of 58 tickets that matched other number combinations, Colorado Lottery officials said.
Powerball was created in 1992 and launched in Colorado in 2001.
The game is now played in 29 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
