Garrett Atkins should consider going to bat with a cape. He has played the role of superhero for the Rockies. Tuesday, he extended his hitting streak to 14 games, the longest active skein in the major leagues. In search of relief.
Mark Redman will be skipped in the rotation, pushed back to Tuesday to keep Jeff Francis on regular rest. Redman will work out of the bullpen, replacing the injured Kip Wells. “I can help the (relief corps),” Redman said. “But I absolutely need to get better fastball command.”
Catching on.
