A 41-year-old Russian billionaire has paid $36.375 million for a home on Wildcat Ridge above Snowmass Village.
Roman Abramovich, No. 15 on Forbes magazine’s list of the world’s richest people, with a net worth of $23.5 billion, closed Tuesday on the 14,300-square-foot house that was custom-built for U.S. Surgical Corp. founder Leon Hirsch of Connecticut.
It was the second-highest price paid for a single-family home in the Aspen area.
The highest price was paid last year when Jeffrey Soffer paid $36.5 million for a home in Starwood owned by Saudi Prince Bandar.
