Roman Abramovich, No. 15 on Forbes magazine’s list of the world’s richest people with a net worth of $23.5 billion, closed Tuesday on the 14,300-square-foot house that was custom built for United States Surgical Corp. founder Leon Hirsch of Connecticut.
It is the second-highest price paid in the Aspen area for a single-family home. Last year, Jeffrey Soffer paid $36.5 million for a home in Starwood owned by Saudi Prince Bandar.
