COLORADO SPRINGS — Former Colorado Springs Mayor Bob Isaac has died at age 80.
Family members say Isaac died Friday of complications from pneumonia.
He was mayor from 1979 until 1997 and was known as an advocate for roads, water systems and other public works projects. A new airport opened on his watch in 1994.
Isaac was a West Point graduate and lawyer. He also worked as an assistant district attorney and judge.
A public memorial is planned Friday at City Auditorium.
