GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—Authorities have arrested a 22-year-old woman in Alaska in the death of an infant found April 29th in a Grand Junction home.

Grand Junction Police Chief Bill Gardner says Morgan Hite was arrested Tuesday in Wasilla, Alaska, on charges of first-degree murder and child abuse resulting in death. She was ordered held without bond to be extradited to Colorado.

Grand Junction police worked with Alaska authorities before making the arrest. Police say the infant was found after Hite visited her parents in Mesa County.

The Denver Post reports that Hite also has family in Alaska.
