CHICAGO — United Airlines said it has received approval from its lenders to amend its $1.5 billion credit agreement with units of JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup and other lenders.

United chief financial officer Jake Brace said in a written statement that the amendment “gives us the flexibility” to implement actions to combat higher fuel costs. The Associated Press
