SUPERIOR — An armed attempted kidnapping in a grocery-store parking lot was foiled by an uncooperative victim and store employees who rushed to her aid.
The incident happened Wednesday night in the parking lot of Whole Foods, 303 Marshall Road, according to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office.
The 53-year-old woman told investigators that she was attacked from behind by a man armed with a black handgun who attempted to push her into her car.
The woman struggled with the assailant, screamed and activated her car horn to alert people, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
As store employees ran toward the car, the suspect — a husky man in his late 20s and about 6 feet tall with short dark hair and a dark complexion — fled on foot, heading south out of the parking lot toward Old Towne Superior. Kieran Nicholson, The Denver Post
