Three people were injured after a man snatched a woman off a Denver street and crashed a van into a pickup truck and a tree when police attempted to pull him over Saturday.
Denver police responding to a report of a possible domestic kidnapping spotted the van near Arizona Avenue and Perry Street, said Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson.
“They must have known each other, but he was forcibly taking her from the location,” Jackson said.
When police tried to stop the driver, he ran a stop sign at Louisiana Avenue and Perry Street. The van struck a blue pickup truck in the intersection, then hit a tree, Jackson said.
The driver of the pickup, the van driver and the woman were injured. The woman sustained the most serious injuries, officials said.
Police haven’t identified any of the parties involved, and charges are pending.
