OREM, Utah — A co-owner of a video rental store that until recently was known for censoring adult content from popular movies has pleaded guilty to paying a teenage girl for sex.
Isaac R. Lifferth, 24, of Springville, and another man operated Flix Club until major studios forced it to shut down for editing adult content out of films.
Lifferth and Daniel Dean Thompson, 31, were later arrested on charges of patronizing two underage prostitutes in the back of their store.
Lifferth took a plea deal Friday and will be sentenced June 27. The four charges carry a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. Two other charges were dropped.
Jere Reneer, Lifferth’s attorney, said the 14-year-old girls told the store owners they were 18.
