Two women waiting for friends outside an Aurora bar early this morning were wounded when a shoot-out erupted.

Police haven’t identified the victims and are seeking the public’s help in tracking the shooters.

Gunfire broke out as both women were sitting in a car at about 2 a.m. outside the La Sierra Bar and Grill, 2045 N. Clinton St., said Aurora Detective Shannon M. Lucy.

“It was closing time and these two women were sitting in their car waiting for the rest of their friends to come out,” Lucy said. “There is no indication that this is gang related,” she added.

Each woman was shot in the upper torso. They were taken to local hospitals, and Lucy said she didn’t know their conditions.

The suspects, who are believed to have been in separate pickups, were probably coming from the bar themselves, Lucy said.

Police are looking for two Latino men, one of them in his mid 20s, with a medium build, 5 feet 8 to 9 inches tall and wearing a black or brown jacket. He was armed with a handgun.

He was driving a white over tan late-model Ford F250 extended cab or four-door pickup with dark-tinted windows and stock wheels. There were four Latino males in the truck.

The second suspect is a Latino male wearing a yellow shirt and tan cowboy hat.

He was driving a late-model Ford F150 or F250 pickup with chrome over the wheel wells and a chrome gas cap on the driver’s side. The truck may have bullet holes in the front end, particularly in the grill area, and may have a broken window.

The Aurora Police Department is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the identity and charging of the suspect(s) in this case.
