Saturday. Count ’em: The 2008 Erie Town Fair has two balloon launches. Two. So if you miss the first grand ascension at 6 a.m. Saturday, you’ve got another chance 24 hours later. The two launches are the bookends for a full day of Erie-centric activities, from helicopter rides at the Erie Municipal Airport (395 Airport Drive) to a good, old-fashioned street festival in Erie’s historic downtown. A beer garden, barbecue and bands are a few of the other festivities planned. Visit erieco.gov for a full schedule of events. 6 a.m. to 9:15 p.m. Saturday.
