LITTLETON — A Littleton police officer shot himself in the leg during a training exercise Wednesday morning as he was putting his gun back into its holster, officials say.
The officer did not have life-threatening injuries, said Cocha Heyden, spokeswoman for the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
The accident happened on the shooting range of the Highlands Ranch Law Enforcement Training Facility, near U.S. 85 in Douglas County, Heyden said.
The name of the injured officer was not released.
