GRUBB & ELLIS CO.: Named Dylan Taylor president, global client services. Taylor has been serving as acting president since January.

COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY: Will confer an honorary doctorate on Michael Smith, chairman and chief executive of Freeport Liquefied Natural Gas Development, at commencement ceremonies Friday. Smith, a former CSU student, will be recognized for his contributions to energy development and local economies.

SOUTHEAST BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP: Promoted Mary Bowers to vice president. Bowers joined the partnership last year as director of public policy and investor relations.

THE CHOTIN GROUP: Helen Dickens, president and chief operating officer, will take over the company’s asset-management business. Steven Chotin, chairman and chief executive, will resume responsibility for the company’s daily structured finance activities and business development.

LION’S CLUB: Honored Dr. David Drucker as the first Honorary Member of the Denver chapter for his work for the club’s Eye Exams for the Needy Program.

AMERICAN COUNCIL OF ENGINEERING COMPANIES OF COLORADO: Announced winners of its 2008 Engineering Recognition Awards. Peter Binney, former director of Aurora Water, received the General Palmer Award for his contributions to Colorado and the advancement of the engineering profession; William Clevenger and Eugene Waggoner (posthumously) the Orley O. Phillips Award for significant contributions to the engineering profession; Gregg Ten Eyck, chairman of Leonard Rice Engineers Inc., the George Washington Award for outstanding service to the community and the enhancement of the public image of the consulting engineering profession; Dave Fraser, chief meteorologist for News2, the President’s Award for promoting math, engineering and science education; and Mark Heffron, teacher at the Denver School of Science & Technology, the Outstanding Educator of the Year honor.

GALLOWAY GROUP: Appointed Kimball Howell as executive vice president/chief marketing officer; Kathy Norford, executive vice president, strategy and branding; Cori Plotkin, communications director; and Whitney Kiely Moehle, creative director.
