United is changing the way it awards frequent-flier awards in its Mileage Plus program.
In an e-mail to members Wednesday, the carrier said it will no longer award 500 points for flight segments shorter than 500 miles. The new policy to award points for actual miles flown begins July 1. The Denver Post
