FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Regis Jesuit High School’s boys swimming team won its 14th straight state 5A swimming championship Friday night.
Regis scored 351 points at the two-day meet at Edora Pool Ice Center, far ahead of runner-up Cherry Creek, which finished with 238 points. Heritage placed third with 199 points.
Regis’ Jay Kim won the 200-yard individual medley in 1 minute, 49.98 seconds and the 100 butterfly in 50.03. Teammate Blas Yslas was first in the 100 breaststroke in 58.22.
Legacy’s Steve Schmuhl was the only other individual double-winner. He took the 200 freestyle in 1:40.03 and the 100 freestyle in 45.61. Fort Collins’ Tyler Bush successfully defended his 500 free title.
