You may not be able to compete in a 5K or 10K race, but if you work at it, you can run 5,280 feet, right? That’s the distance set for the inaugural Mile High Mile, a June 1 event that will start at and end at the steps of the state Capitol. Proceeds will benefit the Greenway Foundation, which is dedicated to preserving and enhancing Denver’s urban waterways, including the South Platte River and Cherry Creek. The event, which starts at 8 a.m., will have waves for various age groups, as well as disabled and elite athletes. Registration is $20 for those 17 and younger, and $25 for people 18 and older.
