TRENTON, N.J. — Much-needed medicine, vaccines and medical supplies have begun entering disaster-ravaged areas of Myanmar and China, donated by U.S. and foreign drugmakers that also are giving millions of dollars in aid.

The initial shipments have included everything from antibiotics and first-aid supplies to nutrition supplements and drugs for diarrheal diseases.

Drugmakers also are collecting donations from employees and matching those amounts, particularly for help in China, where many of the needed medicines and supplies can be bought locally. Many companies have manufacturing and other operations in Asia and are shipping supplies from there.
