
Six projects will receive awards from the Downtown Denver Partnership at a dinner tonight at the Hyatt Regency.
In addition, architect Dennis Humphries will receive the Rickenbaugh Community Service award for his volunteer work and his passion for preservation, collaboration, education and community-focused architecture.
The six winning projects are:
• The 16th Street pedestrian bridges for creating a series of connections among downtown, the Central Platte Valley and the Highland neighborhoods.
• The Curtis for packaging a boutique hotel, dining and student housing in one complex and adding vitality to 14th Street.
• Denver’s Road Home for developing and implementing a model for moving homeless people off the streets and into housing and treatment facilities.
• The Denver Urban Renewal Authority for 50 years of civic entrepreneurship, enabling redevelopment projects that improve urban areas.
• The 2007 Downtown Area Plan steering committee for leading the process to create the vision for downtown Denver and its growth over the next 20 years.
• The Museum of Contemporary Art for creating a distinctive environment for the presentation of contemporary art.
