A 34-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly driving away after fatally striking a 19-year-old Boulder woman on U.S. 287 early this morning, authorities say.

Jeremy Raisch of Windsor was arrested on suspicion of leaving the scene of a fatal accident and failing to notify police, said Trooper Gilbert Mares, spokesman for the Colorado State Patrol.

Cerridwyn Ursula-Lujan of Boulder was pronounced dead after she was flown by helicopter to Denver Health Medical Center, Mares said.

Authorities are searching for a second motorist who hit Ursula-Lujan shortly after she was initially struck.

The State Patrol also is investigating whether Ursula-Lujan was intoxicated at the time of the accident.

Mares said Ursula-Lujan was crossing U.S. 287 near Vermillion Road at 1:22 a.m. when Raisch, headed north on the highway, drove a black 1999 Nissan Pathfinder into the woman.
