A 53-year-old Adams County man has been sentenced to prison for possession of child pornography.
Robert Everett Gimer was sentenced Friday by U.S. District Court Judge Robert E. Blackburn to nine years in federal prison, according to a press release by U.S. Attorney Troy Eid.
Gimer was indicted by a federal grand jury on June 4, 2007, the press release said. He pleaded guilty before Judge Blackburn on October 12, 2007.
According to a plea agreement in the case, Gimer downloaded between 150 and 300 images of child pornography on his computer between May 2004 through June 2005.
The case against Gimer was investigated by the FBI and prosecuted by the U.S. Attorneys Office.
Gimer, who is free on bond, was ordered to report to a federal prison.
