Denver police today identified the two officers involved in the fatal shooting of a knife-wielding Montbello man last weekend.
The officers are Christopher Cesarec and Chris Pappas. Cesarec has been with the department for eight years and Pappas joined in 2005.
Both of the officers are still working in District 5, according to spokesman John White. No other information about the officers was released.
Police say Odiceo Valencia, 45, was shot as he charged officers with a knife on Saturday afternoon. Valencia had apparently cut his wrist in an attempt to commit suicide. He left the Montbello house, came back and had a knife when police tried to subdue him with pepper bullets and a Taser.
