A motorcyclist killed in a crash in Longmont Saturday night has been identified as Jacob Gonzales, 25, of Westminster.
Gonzales was driving a black 2006 Suzuki GSXR750 motorcycle northbound on 75th Street at Rozena Street in Boulder County about 5:45 p.m. Saturday, the Colorado State Patrol said in a news release.
A white 2006 Kia Sorento northbound on 75th began to make a left turn onto Rozena when Gonzalez drove into the Kia’s right front corner, the release said. The Kia then hit a black 2004 Saturn Vue stopped on Rozena.
Gonzales, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene.
The 17-year-old Longmont woman driving the Kia was taken to Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland with moderate injuries, the patrol said. Her 18-year-old passenger was taken to Longmont United Hospital with minor injuries.
The 38-year-old Longmont man driving the Saturn was not injured.
The patrol is investigating the crash, but at this point it is believed that neither alcohol nor drugs was involved, although Gonzales may have been driving too fast.
