At least three Civil Air Patrol planes and two search-and-rescue ground teams looked Sunday evening for a twin-engine Cessna that went missing earlier in the day. The search will continue Monday.
The plane took off from Animas Airpark in Durango at 6:30 a.m. and arrived in Hayden about 7:30 a.m. In Hayden, the pilot picked up his father.
When the plane failed to arrive in Fort Collins, family members notified the Federal Aviation Administration. The Civil Air Patrol collected and analyzed radar and cellphone data from the plane beginning at 11 a.m.
Dawn Alperti, the public information officer with the Routt County search-and-rescue team, said the teams were looking for the plane in the area of north California Park.
