WINDSOR, Colo.—The town of Windsor has continued a nearly 65-year-old tradition despite the devastation of last week’s tornado.

Residents turned out Monday for the Memorial Day service organized by American Legion Post 109.

The service was held despite the fact that the northern Colorado town is still reeling from a tornado that tore through the area, killing one person and destroying and damaging hundreds of houses.

Windsor Mayor John Vazquez says the Memorial Day ceremony is a part of the town’s healing process.
