Getting your player ready...

Attention, ladies: “Sex and the City” returns today, this time to the big screen. And that means it’s time for one of those gal-pal cocktail hours you used to indulge in. A few cosmos, a lot of gossip, a little flirting with strangers at the bar. Here are three lounges that will suit the scene.

Harry’s Bar at the Magnolia Hotel, 17th and Stout streets, Denver, 303-607-9000,

The best thing about Harry’s? It’s attached to a swank hotel — so you never know who you will meet. That, and the swell cocktails and tasty snacks.

15C 15 E. Bijou St. Suite C, Colorado Springs, 719-635-8303,

Tucked away in an alley downtown, (it’s there, you just need to keep looking) 15C feels like a speak-easy that’s been reincarnated for the new millennium. It’s one of the best-kept secrets on the Front Range. Hang at the bar or on a sofa and order something fancy. A lemon drop perhaps?

Peaks Lounge at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, 15th and California streets, Denver, 303-436-1234,

Sure, you’ll pay top dollar for a cocktail at this bar high in the air at the convention-happy Hyatt Regency. But it’s hard to duplicate the grand view of the mountains. A swell place to take out-of-town guests.

Go, Joe, go

We’re big on Tokyo Joe’s. The local, Japanese-ish chain offers healthy, guilt-free fast food. This week’s obsession: the MoJoe bowl, a sweet-and-spicy combo of dark-meat chicken, eggs, carrots, onions, pepper and pineapple. It’s not the most sensible menu choice, but it’s big enough for two meals. Ray Mark Rinaldi
